Arboricultural Impact Statements
Project Management
With extensive experience managing projects of varying sizes at private and local government level, we have the experience to help design, plan and coordinate a variety of projects, including landscape design, tree health assessments, vegetation management and urban forestry.
Biodiversity Assessments (BAM)
Under the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 (BC Act), a large proportion of developments in NSW will require an ecological assessment using the new Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM). The BC Act requires that all assessments under the BAM must be undertaken by an accredited BAM assessor, appointed by the Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH).
HA-BRA-CUL-CHA has 2 accredited BAM assessors able to prepare assessments under the BC Act, available to prepare Biodiversity Development Assessment Reports and Biodiversity Stewardship Site Assessment Reports for developments and proposed in-perpetuity conservation areas, respectively.
Tree Health and Plant Pathology Assessments
We have developed our relationship with plant pathologists from the Royal Botanic Gardens and Southern Cross University to analyse soil and leaf samples to create successful management strategies for sustainable vegetation.
Landscape Design
We can assist by creating highly-detailed scale designs of your projects to convey an easily understandable plan to your clients. With a wealth of knowledge in CAD (computer-aided design), we are able to work within the scope of your project and legislative requirements to help you reach your goals.
Education and Training
Lee has been teaching at a diploma level since 1999. He is skilled at building rapport with students and helping them gain a deeper understanding of the subject matter, and isolate the individual needs of each student to tailor their learning experience to their skill set. He has taught classes for Horticulture, Landscape Design, Conservation and Ecosystem Management, and Arboriculture.
Investigation and Expert Witness
Detailed and current knowledge of the environmental legislation within NSW has allowed our staff to be involved with the collection and collation of information required for successful prosecutions in the NSW Land and Environment Court.
GIS Mapping and Natural Areas Management
We can create Geographic Information System (GIS) maps to assist in conveying details at a broader level. Using GPS technology and data resources, maps can be made to show changes in vegetation and waterways over time, sightings of threatened species, and visualising boundaries current and future before the groundwork begins.
Urban Forestry and Ecology
With a passion for Newcastle’s beautiful city landscape, we are dedicated to getting the best possible outcome for urban vegetation in our city. We are experienced in the management and implementation of projects in natural areas and city streets, and can assist in beautification, asset management and environmental-focused projects.
